Ahn'Qiraj Gates
They opened the Ahn'Qiraj Gates on my server yesterday. I missed the entire event because my computer had crashed irretrievably. Pfui. Not that I'm entirely sure I'd have taken part in any way. But I'd have kinda liked to just see what all the fuss is about.

Of course really the fuss is about players being now able to play the part of the game I find least interesting: more raids and instances. I'm pleased for them, but I won't be joining in.

Not real thrilled with the Outlands, either. My Horde main has been there a few times (he's 60 now), attempting the first quest, and so far I'm just unimpressed. The sky is gorgeous, of course, and the quest would be pretty do-able, but for the double-questionmark mob that paces back and forth across the area where it needs done. It's stomped us a few times. I don't like places where they mix levels like that. But we'll keep trying. For a while, anyway.

It kept turning itself off. And refusing to turn on again. We couldn't figure out why: maybe the memory failing, maybe something else. It suddenly became useless, however, when that began to happen about every five or ten minutes, so money that had been earmarked for other purposes has purchased me a nasty Vista-machine. (And very lucky I am that we had money, earmarked or otherwise!)

Maybe I'll learn to like Vista. We thought of using this opportunity to go Mac, but it was more expensive and there'd be so much software to buy. (I know Mac can play Windows better than Windows can. I'd prefer software intended for the operating system. Which is probably silly, but there it is.) Vista is almost as condescending as Mac, though. Dunno why Microsoft couldn't copy the good stuff about Mac, and leave off the bad.
